My background

I was born in Mackay and have lived in Walkerston my whole life. I started my career with a Traineeship at Mackay City Council and worked in Building and Plumbing Approvals for 5ish years before moving to a local Civil and Structural Engineering company. I only stayed in this role for a few years before changing industries and taking an Administrative position at Mackay Base Hospital. I worked for QH for around 10 years; mainly within Nursing Support and Nursing Recruitment roles. In 2015 I took on the role of Office Administrator - Mental Health for Northern Australia Primary Health Ltd (formally TMML). In this role I was responsible for the day to day functions of the Mental Health Clinics including headspace Mackay. In 2017 I gave birth to my first child and a short 21 months later I had my second. I came on board with Tropical Pest Control in 2020 as my first venture back into the workforce.

What I do when I’m not working

When I'm not working for TPC, I am growing my own business as a Florist (Wild Posy Co). This as well as my two toddlers keeps me pretty busy. For fun I like to spend time with my family, have coffee with good friends and dance my cares away at Zumba.

Values that drive me

For me, equality is high on the list. Everyone is entitled to the same opportunities in life. Further to equality, I also try to be non-judgemental towards the people around me. Everyone has a story and it is not my place to pass judgement on how your experiences have shaped or changed you. Kindness is more than a physical act, it is a mindset.
